Hey ya''ll! I know it's been a while but I've had some computer issues but I'm back! I've been reading Hebrews and it's been messing me up!! Everyone pretty much skips to the 11 chapter of Hebrews where it talks about faith, but I like to read entire books of the Bible at one time and not jump ahead. Before the unknown author of Hebrews talks about faith He talks about the price that was paid for all mankind... The life of Jesus Christ.
The author talks about the traditions of the Hebrew people... Every year they would go to the temple and offer sacrifices to the Lord for their sins. They would have to kill many animals and not only that but they would have to sprinkle the blood of that animal all over the temple. To us Americans that may seem really weird and foreign but the Bible says, "...without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." Hebrews 9:22. Again, weird to us right? But the Bible also explains that the wages of our sin is death (Romans 6:23) Year after year these people would come and kill these animals in order that their sin would be covered... but it wasn't enough. They would always have to come back, then it all changed when Jesus came on the scene in Earth. He became a sacrifice once and for all men!! No longer to we have to sprinkle blood in a temple built with the hands of men, all we have to do is allow the precious blood of Jesus Christ to clean our hearts which were made by the hands of God.
So if Jesus thought that you and I were worth dying for (literally), what stops us from believing that we are truly worth something? It would be arrogant of me to say, "Jesus, you made a mistake when you died for me. I'm not worth it." Jesus doesn't make mistakes, He knows your worth. He knitted you in your mothers womb. If Jesus believes in you, you should believe in you. Don't accept the label that this world put on you. What does God say about you??
You're worth dying for. :)
