This is a super powerful generation of people. People want something that's real, something that is authentic. I've heard it said over and over that this is the generation of people that want to see God in action, not merely talk about Him. This is a generation that will not settle for some image or perception of who God is, they want to know the very presence of God.
We Live in a world where we can send and receive information at the snap of a finger. Everyday day through television, social media, ads, billboards, books (if anyone still reads them), we are bombarded with a ton information. This is what we are used to, and this new capability that we have isn't going anywhere. I believe that people of the generation before the young people today (Baby Boomers and even a little after) were satisfied with people in the church just giving information about who God is and they were fine with that, but we now live in a world where almost every sermon you can think of, you can simply click a button and watch it on YouTube. People want more than a good sermon... They want more than just your words. They want to hear God.
This is a prophetic generation. Meaning that this is a generation that hears what God has to say. No, that doesn't mean we always hear the audible voice of God (although it can and does happen). Believers today are in sync with the Spirit of God. Many who are not even saved have this gift and are unaware. The enemy is also aware of this beautiful gift and doesn't want it to be revealed to you or anyone else. The gift of the prophetic is meant to pierce the very heart of the believer and the non-believer. To remind the people that God has not forgotten about them. Not only are we supposed to talk prophetically, but we ought to walk prophetically, tweet prophetically, post prophetically, converse prophetically, and ultimately live our lives prophetically. Once we do this we wont have to argue anyone into salvation but the World will look into our lives and see that our God is alive. You will be living proof.
"You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart." - 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
A released generation looks like one that knows their purpose in Christ and their faith spreads like fire because they openly share not their words, but their life. Our life is supposed to be a letter read by men, written by the Spirit of the living God. Yes, our God is alive. Not only is He alive, but He comes to bring you life.
Blessings!
